Local businessman Gareth Wilson (www.wilson-gardening.co.uk) has been so impressed with Glossop Crickets Clubs season to date that he has promised to sponsor the club should they continue on their winning streaks until the end of the season. Gareth, a former Glossop player, is particularly keen on supporting the youth development at the club as this is where his career started under the careful watch of his Grandfather Jimmy and devoted member Roger Mays.

Last Saturday Glossop welcomed second placed Denton West to North Road in what was another vital encounter in the 2010 Lancashire County League fixture list. The squally early morning weather did not provide much hope that there would be any play at all. However, following a substantial mopping up job, the required mathematics was undertaken and it was decided that each side would receive a maximum of 24 overs.
