Prestwich managed to win all four senior games on a weekend which saw the return from injury of professional Craig Duxbury. The First and Second teams saw off Denton in the league on Saturday, a result which put the 2XI to the top of their league. On Sunday both teams progressed past Cheetham Hill in the Cup. BIG-HITTING Steve Dublin smashed his way to a rapid half-century to thwart the Prestwich dream of a trip to Old Trafford. Last year, the Heys side made it through to the quarter-final of the prestigious Lancashire Cup, only to be knocked out by eventual finalists Darwen.
Last Sunday, they faced their own league champions Denton St Lawrence for whom Dublin proved the difference. |

The Second Team travelled to Flowery Field in Hyde on Saturday as they looked to consolidate their place at the top of the league table.
Preparations did not go swimmingly, with Dulux breaking a finger during the warm up, Garstang testing the plumbing to it's max with worryingly regular visits to the bathroom, and Luke not ringing his Mum to tell her he had found the ground safely!!!

Rain was once again the winner on Saturday when the First and Second teams were both involved in lengthy rain affected draws which meant two points each. On Sunday the First XI were beaten in the LCB Knockout Cup by fellow LCL side Denton Saint Lawrence whilst the Third XI went down by 107 runs away to Clifton. |

Saturdays 2XI victory over Cheetham Hill was the only game from our club which beat the weather this weekend with both 1XI games and Sundays 2XI game being washed out. Pete Lorenzini and Mike Taylor were the stars for Prestwich - click below for the match report. |

The First and Second teams both won batting second on Saturday. The Firsts chased down 140 and the Seconds reeled in 187 as Woodbank were comfortably beaten in both encounters.
