Sean Haslam smashed 66 from just 48 balls to help Prestwich to a comfortable 7 wicket victory away at Denton St Lawrence. The win keeps the Second XI top of the table with the prospect of a great game this Saturday at The Heys as second placed Woodhouses are the visitors.
Mike Taylor starred with the ball on Saturday and the bat on Sunday as Prestwich took a maximum 10 points from their double weekend to go back to the top of Division Two.
Prestwich 2XI took on Denton West at The Heys on Saturday and came out on top just as they had in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Luke O'Brien and Andy Bradley were the main contributors as a 4 wicket victory put Prestwich level on points at the top of the table.
A big thanks to Flixton Cricket Club and particularly ex-Prestwich slogger Alan Embleton for their excellent hospitality on Sunday as Prestwich dusted off the 'Sunday XI' shirts for cricket and copious drinks.
Jon O'Connor went all Graham Napier on us at weekend blasting 47no from just 19 balls but it wasn't enough to secure the points as the Second XI went down by 5 wickets to Flowery Field in a rain affected match and in the process lost top spot in Division 2.
Prestwich 2XI conquered Dukinfield in the league on Saturday due to a good all round display and then Peter Lorenzini (pictured) produced a typically miserly spell of bowling on Sunday in the Semi Final vs Roe Green, helping Prestwich to their seventh succesive Hulme Trophy Final.
