Mike HudsonThe First and Second teams both won batting second on Saturday. The Firsts chased down 140 and the Seconds reeled in 187 as Woodbank were comfortably beaten in both encounters.

Matt SmithA mixed Prestwich side travelled to the Racecourse Ground to take on Radcliffe 2XI on Easter Sunday. Radcliffe emerged victorious in a closely contested game with 3 stumpings and 4 run outs contributing to the Prestwich downfall.

Winter Nets

Net SessionDust off your trainers, make sure you've got plenty of ralgex and prepare to be in pain for a week - Its nearly time for winter nets!!

Winter net practice has moved to Monday nights at 8pm this year, the first one being on the 29th January. 

Please all try to attend as often as possible, as well as taking the opportunity to support the club by nipping back to PCTBC for a swift half or two afterwards.

Peter CopeSOME sportsmen, as the saying goes, cover every blade of grass.
Well, Peter Cope has probably not just covered every inch of ground at Prestwich Cricket Club, but cut it, forked it, returfed and reseeded it.
For the last three decades and more, Peter has been the linchpin of pitch preparation at the Heys Road ground.
And before that, he was a regimental talisman who made his name as Second Team captain for 20 years and was famed for his “walking shot”.

2XI Champions!!!

fordy gets trophy from A.CrookAfter several years of near-misses, Prestwich CC's second team were crowned league champions on Saturday, with two games still to go.
In his first season as 2nd XI captain, John Fiorentini has guided his players to the division two championship, after narrowly losing out on a fifth successive cup success.
A seven-wicket victory over Woodhouses, sparked the celebrations and the trophy was formally presented by league chairman Tony Crook.
The 2nds last won the league title in 1970.

Woeful Weekend

bowledFollowing a spirited bowling and fielding performance without the ill Chris Humphries, the Prestwich batting disintegrated into farce, being bowled out for 74 and losing by nearly 100 runs. This put's the 1XI out of touch with the leaders with nothing but pride to play for in the last two games.{no-combomax}
