Win or bust! That's the simple ultimatum facing Prestwich CC's first team as they meet league leaders and cup conquerors Woodhouses on Saturday. Both the first and second teams were rained off on Saturday without a ball being bowled.
The entire League program was affected with not a single game being played in either division leaving the 1st XI praying for miracles and Fordy's 2nd XI requiring just five points from their remaining three fixtures to be crowned champions.{no-combomax} |

The 1st XI cruised to victory at lowly Cheetham Hill on Saturday thanks in part to Craig Duxbury's unbeaten 36 with the bat and 4 for 14 with the ball.{no-combomax}

 Mike hit 58 Prestwich did a Denton double with the firsts and seconds both winning their Walkden Cup and Hulme Trophy semi-finals. The second team make it to their fifth cup final in a row - winning the last four - while the firsts get through to their first cup final since their victory over Woodbank in 2002.{no-combomax} |

Prestwich's third round Thwaites Lancashire Cup tie against Stretford was abandoned 9 overs in to the visitors run-chase due to a 30 minute thunder storm that washed out the game. Prestwich totalled 192-8 from their 45 overs and play was stopped with Stretford in the fifties for the loss of 2 wickets.
The match will now be replayed from scratch next Sunday. |

Prestwich put in a first class performace to take all five points from their league encounter with Champions Denton St Lawrence on Saturday. Pete Walters unbeaten 48 was followed by five wicket hauls for both Humpty and Bradders to limit the visitors to 88ao chasing Prestwich's 161-9. On Sunday Skipper Ozzy scored 95 and Craig Duxbury 53 in a 237-5 total against Cheetham Hill in the Walkden Cup, notching up a 44 run win setting up a quarter-final tie at Roe Green on the 25th June. |
