Prestwich Tennis Club’s LTA Licensed Coach, David Morgan, has released details of our 2008 Junior Coaching Programme which consists of summer camps and after-school coaching sessions.
• Junior Coaching Courses
(Non-members welcome)
Saturday Mornings commencing 19th April to 25th October inclusive. Three separate sessions available ranging from Ariel Mini Red to Improvers.
9am – 10am: 8 Years old and under
10am – 11am: 10 Years old and under
11am – 12pm: Over 10 years old
Price: £4 per person per session with no need to book, pay on arrival.
• After School Coaching for Primary School Children
 LTA ARIEL MINI TENNIS Award Scheme – Age 5 to 10.
Wednesdays only: Two sessions 4pm to 5pm and 5pm to 6pm.
4th June, 11th June, 18th June, 25th June, 9th July and 16th July.
Price: £4.50 per person per session.
Please note that as the minimum viable number per session is 6 children, booking is essential. Please telephone David Morgan on 01204 668 306 or 07507 042 717 for more information and to book a place.
No equipment is necessary as racquets will be available to loan free of charge. It is, however, essential that suitable footwear is worn – flat soles without deep ridges to protect the court surface.
• Holiday Coaching Sessions
Coaching sessions will only run with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16 children per session. Pre-booking is essential so please call David Morgan on 01204 668 306 or 07507 042 717 for more information and to book a place.
Half-Term Holiday
Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 27th, 28th and 29th May 2008 – 10am to 12:30pm.
Price £12 per child per day but a reduction to £10 per child per day will be made for two or more bookings from the same family.
Summer Camps
Morning Sessions: 9:30am – 12pm – Mini Red and Orange
Afternoon Sessions: 1pm – 3:30pm – Junior Green and Yellow
Dates: July 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 25th; July 28th, 29th, 30th and August 1st; August 4th and 6th; August 11th and 13th; August 26th, 27th and 29th.
Morning sessions are aimed at age group 5 to 10 - £12 per session
Afternoon sessions are aimed at age group 10 to 16 - £12 per session
Once again, price will be reduced to £10 per child for multiple bookings from the same family. Participants are advised to bring lots of drinks and a snack for the mid-session break. If wet, indoor tennis related activities will be offered.
All sessions conducted by an LTA licensed coach having full CRB disclosure and trained in first aid. Please note that parents should be aware that coaches cannot administer any medication.

Entry Fee: £5 per person
Although tournaments will be advertised as ‘open’ events on the Tennis Lancashire website, the vast majority if not all entrants are expected to be from children who have undergone coaching with David Morgan either at the club or in their own schools.
