.jpg) It is with deep sadness that Stand Cricket Club has learnt of the death of their former player and member, Norman McVicker, after a recent illness.
Norman’s career progressed from club level to professional, with him representing Lincolnshire at minor counties level, before successful spells with Warwickshire and Leicestershire.
Norman played 104 times for Warwickshire from 1969 until 1973, including being a member of the 1972 County Championship winning side before moving to Leicestershire, where he enjoyed even more success playing a massive role in the County’s outstanding 1975 double winning side.

 The cup draws for 2009 were made earlier this week. The first team begin their defence of the Walkden Cup away at Woodbank on Sunday 24 May, with the seconds playing the reverse Hulme Trophy fixture.
